Our aim as we work with our young people is: To provide a safe place for young people to be themselves
- To model Christian values
- To encourage respect for themselves and each other
- To encourage them to be positively involved in their communities
- To have fun
The vision for the future is to develop an effective youth service for the local Feltrim community and the young people of Swords Baptist Church.
This is our group for young people in 1st to 6th year. We meet every Friday night from 8 pm to 10.30 pm at the Riasc Centre. During this time we hang out, play pool, table tennis and the xbox. We also come together for group games, discussion or to listen to guests speaking about relevant topics. Another important part of Impact are day trips and residentials. These happen regularly throughout the year and are great to be a part of. We have been paintballing and surfing and plan to do lots more.
This happens during our Sunday morning celebration, and is open to anyone in secondary school. During this time we look at what God is saying to us through his word and how that might affect the choices we make as we journey with Him every day. The youth service in Swords Baptist Church is developing, and as we move into the future the vision is to develop an effective youth service for the local Feltrim community and the young people of Swords Baptist Church. One that effectively meets the needs of young people, encouraging them and enabling them to make positive life choices, to journey with God and to be active citizens in their community
The Riasc Centre which is owned and managed by Swords Baptist Church and is their primary ‘home’, also functions as a venue for Conferences, Concerts, Seminars, Training Courses, Meetings, etc. It is available for the use of the immediate local community and indeed the wider business community. There are a number of conference rooms available for rent, ranging in size, as well as a 400 seater auditorium. It is our desire to see the Riasc Centre as being a useful commodity for the local community as well as the wider business community.
At Swords Baptist Church we want to offer all we can to the community around us.
